Maryland Brand

Student/Campus Groups

Student groups and organizations can create their own logos as long as they do not incorporate any University of Maryland logos, word marks or seals. Such logos must be approved by Trademarks and Licensing.

Allowed Examples

Student groups should incorporate identifiers such as club, society, association or chapter in the name of their organization so that it is clearly identified as a student organization, not a university department or other unit.

Examples: “Crogi Appreciation Club,” “ACES Student Board” or “Residence Hall Association.”

The Testudo mascot mark, Terps bar or Maryland bar logos can be used with the logo above the bar and the group name under it.
