Unit Lockups
All UMD colleges, schools, departments, centers and institutes, and non-curricular units must use their approved university logo lockup on all communication materials. Lockups are organized by the following:
Primary Logo
The primary logo refers to the University of Maryland globe logo, the primary identifier for the university.
The horizontal configuration is the preferred configuration.
- Use the vertical configuration or an alternative lockup when space or design requires.
Unit Lockups
Unit lockups are provided for schools and colleges, as well as approved administrative and academic units.
All four lockup configurations are approved for use at the dean’s or vice president's discretion.
Subunit Lockups
Subunit lockups are provided for entities within a unit, including departments, institutes, centers, nonacademic programs and laboratories.
Subunit lockups that emphasize the unit name are permitted for external use.
Beyond Subunits
For academic units (degree- and credit-bearing programs) and administrative entities beyond the subunit level, please use the unit lockup or primary logo.
